    Jesus can reveal the Father or Shekinah Glory by transfiguring. We can gain Jesus’ spirit by becoming a believer in the power of His blood to cover our sin.
    If I step boldly before the throne of God, I shall see Christ Jesus sitting at the throne.
    I will be filled with the Holy Spirit.
    Shekinah Glory shall be filling the whole of the heavens.

    Ishmael Abraham Can God take the physical form of an idol? I think Shekinah is creation not Creator. God mentions Shekinah in Quran 2:248 9:26 9:40 48:4 48:18 48:26. For the curiosity of Shia readers, most of these verses are from Chapter of Repentance which mentions the first Caliph of Islam and Chapter of Victory which contains the most famous verse honouring the blessed Companions. I think God the Creator is the fullness of God. Since the concept of indwelling can lead to heresy of making an infinite God occupy a finite space, we use the concept of spiritual vitality and/or re-birth as mentioned in Quran 8:24 and 36:70. I think if spirit supposedly indwells, we cease to be sinners but when we become sinners faith departs. This is how the Ishmaelite light of gentiles (p) described it. If you really want to be close to the Throne of God please recite Quran 2:255 and 9:129. Some sufi Muslims also think that the Ishmaelite light of gentiles will sit with God on his throne, but orthodox scholars consider it a heretical and blasphemous concept. I understand the concepts you use more than American secularists whom you love more, but I find the hypostatic union an influence of greco-roman paganism which has seduced both Christians and secularists.

    Ishmael Abraham Shalom on truth seekers.  It is written in sacred Islamic texts that God will grant victory to children of Isaac peace be upon him without weapons through dhikr or reciting the remembrance of God by glorifying Him and His holy names. That’s why I told you never to forget reciting Shema before sleeping. Ishmaelite leader of saints Imam Ali(as) said that I did not forget reciting dhikr even during the night of battle of Siffin which was a civil war. So, do not forget that even in the most stressful and anxious days of your life until you die.

  • Ironic process theory, hypersexuality and sufi counselling

    I am happy to learn about our shared concern about childhood hypersexualization in the modern culture. In traditional cultures, many people with hypersexuality do counselling with sufi saints and many people recover. I think sufi saints achieve that by reducing the anxiety of the patients. I have read other psychologists who have written on ironic process theory that patients who cannot inhibit their thoughts should focus on some other intellectual and psychological alternative rather than trying to suppress the negative thoughts. And, that can be achieved by meditative prayers and studying sacred texts. Another aspect they have mentioned is that one should reduce multitasking to avoid negative thoughts. Since modern culture is based on industrial revolution where multitasking is inevitable, so that makes sexual revolution inevitable. So, if we start spending more relaxed time in spiritual, charitable and philanthropic activities that can reduce the anxiety and stress created by industrious activities.
    You are right to acknowledge the fact of using hypersexuality as an excuse for infidelity and I have found many secularist ideologues using the same excuse. However, many real psychologists are not absolute fatalists.

    Divine peace be upon the truth seekers. Muslim worldview sees homosexuality as sinful as rape because both are acts of sexual gratification contrary to the commandments of God. The latter involves one sinner while former involves two sinners. I do not think that the 20,000 women who were raped in Bosnian war would want to be homosexuals, because we are horrified by both. She should sympathize with female victims of Bosnian war and should not make herself and Muslim women the victims of cultural imperialism just like they have been victims of military imperialism. God says in Quran that fitna(temptation) is more destructive than murder because being martyred leads to Paradise and being seduced leads to Fire. When a victim of military imperialism supports cultural imperialism it is an instance of Stockholm’s syndrome.
