  • Why blind pro-traditionalists hate contemporary scholars?

    Muhammad Mushrraf

    8 ساعة · ما ترك الأول للآخر شيئا <<<>>> كم ترك الأول للآخریہ شکوی کئي زبانوں پر سننے کو ملتا ہے کہ جو شخصیت اس دار فانی سے آخرت کو سدھار جاتی ہے، اس کی نئی تحقیق یا جدید بات “درخور اعتنا” سمجھی جاتی ہے، لیکن جو شخصیت زندہ ہو اور کوئی اپنی طبع زاد بات یا نظریہ پیش کرے تو زمانہ اسے محض علمی پیمانے پر پرکھنے کے لئے تیار نہیں ہوتا، اسے قبول کرنا تو بہت دور کی بات ہے، إلا ما شاء الله تعالى۔یہ شکوی کوئی نیا نہیں، ماضی میں بھی ایسا ہی ہوتا آیا، اسی حوالے سے ایک حنفی امام “خیر الدین رملی” نے، جو علامہ حصکفی صاحب “الدر المختار” کے استاد تھے، ایک شعر کہا:قل لمن ير المعاصر شيئا : ويرى للأوائل التقديما إن ذلك القديم كان حديثا : وسيقى هذا الحديث قديماترجمہ: کہہ دو اسے جو اپنے زمانے والے کو کچھ نہیں سمجھتا اور جو پہلے گزر گئے انہیں ہی ہر معاملے میں مقدم ہے سمجھتا کہ جو پہلے گزر گیا وہ بھی کبھی “نیا” (اور کسی کا ہم عصر) تھا اور جو نیا ہے وہ بھی ایک دور میں “پہلوں” میں سے ہو جائے گا۔امام مبرد اس حوالے اپنے تجربہ ان الفاظ میں لکھتے ہیں کہ کئی لوگ اس مصیبت میں مبتلا نظر آتے ہیں، انہیں کوئی علمی نکتہ بغیر نام لئے بیان کیا جائے، تو اس پر اش اش کراٹھتے ہیں، لیکن جب وہی علمی بات کسی ہم عصر کے حوالے سے بتائی جائے تو ایک سو اسی درجے کے زاویے پر پھر گئے اور اس پر نقد وجرح کے تیر برسانے لگے۔مشہور حنفی عالم علامہ عبد الحي لکھنوی نے فقہ حنفی کی مشہور کتاب “الجامع الصغير” پر حاشیہ چڑھایا، جب اس سے فارغ ہوئے تو اس کے لئے ایک جاندار مقدمہ بھی تحریر فرمایا۔ مولانا لکھنوی مقدمے میں فقہ حنفی سے منسوب ائمہ اور فقہا کے درجات بیان کرنے اور فقہ حنفی میں متعمد اور قابل اعتبار کتابوں میں درجہ بندی کرنے کے بعد کہتے ہیں کہ:”یہ درجوں اور رتبوں میں فرق زمانے کے آگے پیچھے ہونے کے لحاظ سے نہیں، بلکہ ان کتابوں کے قلم کاروں کے علمی رتبے کی بنیاد پرہے، ضروری نہیں کہ ہر بعد میں آنے والے کی تصنیف پہلوں سے کہتر ہو، بلکے کبھی کبھی بعد میں آنے والے کی کتاب کا پلڑا اس کی صفات کی وجہ سے پہلوں کی کتابوں پر بھاری ہو جاتا ہے، جس نے بھی بصیرت کی نگاہ دوڑائی اس سے یہ حقیقت ڈھکی چھپی نہیں ہے”رحمه الله تعالى هؤلاء العلماء الأحرار، وجزاهم عنا خير الجزاء ————– النافع الكبير لمن يطالع الجامع الكبير، لعبد الحي اللكنوي، في نهايى الفصل الأول في ذكر طبقات الفقهاء والكتب وكيفية شيوع العلم خلفا وسلفا

    Namaz is both DAILY and HABITUAL. { Bipolar patients who introduce meditation to their DAILY routine see a greater sense of peace and a leveling of their moods for at least several hours after each meditation session. Once the practice of meditation becomes HABITUAL , the bipolar patient will develop an internal set of skills, such as moving from a state of confusion and anxiety to one of peace and inner calm. }
  • Spiritual Compassion Fatigue

    Spiritual Compassion Fatigue

    Being disciples of Sufi saints we feel traumatized by majority of people on earth being engaged in sinful lifestyles and this induces feelings of great spiritual compassion within us. But since we cannot reach out to everyone undergoing spiritual suffering, this can create stressful feelings, but Islam teaches that the divine requirement from us is a global intention and moderate action, while changing of hearts is divine prerogative. Noble Hadith teaches that there had been Prophets in history who failed to persuade a single person to abandon their spiritually harmful ideas and lifestyles, but still they are successful in the sight of God because of their right intentions and consistent actions.
    To help prevent compassion fatigue, Dr. Sood recommends: Try to comes to terms with the fact that pain and suffering are realities of life over which we have little or no control. God says in Quran 90:4 that We have created man into struggles and challenges. The wisdom behind it is that it inspires progressive, altruistic, intellectual and spiritual pursuits like psychiatry, philanthropy and sufism. Moreover, it reminds us of the fact that perfection can only be achieved in eternal Hereafter in Paradise, so we should lead altruistic lives here rather than purely individualistic lives.

  • A Brazilian sister asks about Quranic verses on morality

    Tell me a verse talking about morality
    The word morality comes from Latin moris meaning one’s disposition. Islam teaches that every child is born on a sinless and pure disposition or fitrah unlike original sin. { Quran 30:30 Asad AND SO, set thy face steadfastly towards the [one ever-true] faith, turning away from all that is false, in accordance with the natural disposition which God has instilled into man: [for,] not to allow any change to corrupt what God has thus created this is the ever-true faith; but most people know it not. } {Verily, We have shown him the way: [and it rests with him to prove himself] either grateful or ungrateful. – 76:3 (Asad) } { and shown him the two highways [of good and evil]? – 90:10 (Asad) }
    BEHOLD, God enjoins justice, and the doing of good, and generosity towards [one’s] relatives and He forbids all that is shameful and all that runs counter to reason, as well as opression; [and] He exhorts you so that you might bear [all this] in mind. – 16:90 (Asad)}

    Mary’s Song of Praise: The Magnificat
    46 And Mary said,
    “My soul magnifies the Lord,
    47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
    48 for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
    For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
    49 for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
    and holy is his name.
    50 And his mercy is for those who fear him
    from generation to generation.
    51 He has shown strength with his arm;
    he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
    52 he has brought down the mighty from their thrones
    and exalted those of humble estate;
    53 he has filled the hungry with good things,

    54 He has helped his servant Israel,

    Steven Dubberly And YES…Elijah is dead…When Christ and the apostle Peter state that not ONE human being is now in heaven, they are referencing the location of God’s throne, which is the center of the entire universe. When the book of Hebrews says Enoch was “translated” or “taken” (the same thing which occurred to Elijah), it is not stating that the Eternal somehow took him ‘early’ because of his righteousness to receive his eternal award AHEAD of countless people who also deserve eternal life. He traveled WITHIN what we today call the sky to another location on planet earth, which God decided not to name, in order that he should not die at that time.
    The Lord, in His wisdom, decided to transport Enoch and Elijah away from where they were originally located so that someone (or something) would not be able to physically kill or murder them at that particular time. They did NOT go to heaven, but continued to live the SAME kind of fleshly existence we do after they moved until they died. This is in agreement with other scriptures that state ALL men must die a physical death.
    27. And inasmuch as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this, the judgment (Hebrews 9:27)

    Ishmael Abraham Jesus peace be upon him will be concerned with himself and he will not advocate for anyone. Abu Huraira reported:
    Meat was one day brought to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and a foreleg was offered to him, a part which he liked. He sliced with his teeth a piece out of it and said: I shall be the leader of mankind on the Day of Resurrection. Do you know why? Allah would gather in one plain the earlier and the later (of the human race) on the Day of Resurrection. Then the voice of the proclaimer would be heard by all of them and the eyesight would penetrate through all of them and the sun would come near. People would then experience a degree of anguish, anxiety and agony which they shall not be able to bear and they shall not be able to stand. Some people would say to the others: Don you see in which trouble you are? Don’t you see what (misfortune) has overtaken you? Why don’t you find one who should intercede for you with your Lord? Some would say to the others: Go to Adam. And they would go to Adam and say: O Adam, thou art the father of mankind. Allah created thee by His own Hand and breathed in thee of His spirit and ordered the angels to prostrate before thee. Intercede for us with thy Lord Don’t you see in what (trouble) we are? Don’t you see what (misfortune) has overtaken us? Adam would say: Verily, my Lord is angry, to an extent to which He had never been angry before nor would He be angry afterward. Verily, He forbade me (to go near) that tree and I disobeyed Him. I am concerned with my own self. Go to someone else; go to Noah. They would come to Noah and would say: O Noah, thou art the first of the Messengers (sent) on the earth (after Adam), and Allah named thee as a” Grateful Servant,” intercede for us with thy Lord. Don’t you see in what (trouble) we are? Don’t you see what (misfortune) has overtaken us? He would say: Verily, my Lord is angry today as He had never been angry before, and would never be angry afterwards. There had emanated a curse from me with which I cursed my people. I am concerned with only myself, I am concerned only with myself; you better go to Ibrahim (peace be upon him). They would go to Ibrahim and say: Thou art the apostle of Allah and His Friend amongst the inhabitants of the earth; intercede for us with thy Lord. Don’t you see in which (trouble) we are? Don’t you see what (misfortune) has overtaken us? Ibrahim would say to them: Verily, my Lord is today angry as He had never been angry before and would never be angry afterwards. and (Ibrahim) would mention his lies (and then say): I am concerned only with myself, I am concerned only with myself. You better go to someone else: go to Moses. They would come to Moses (peace be upon him) and say: O Moses, thou art Allah’s messenger, Allah blessed thee with His messengership and His conversation amongst people. Intercede for us with thy Lord. Don’t you see in what (trouble) we are? Don’t you see what (misfortune) has overtaken us? Moses (peace be upon him) would say to them: Verily. my Lord is angry as He had never been angry before and would never be angry afterwards. I, in fact, killed a person whom I had not been ordered to kill. I am concerned with myself, I am concerned with myself. You better go to Jesus (peace be upon him). They would come to Jesus and would say: O Jesus, thou art the messenger of Allah and thou conversed with people in the cradle, (thou art) His Word which I-Ie sent down upon Mary. and (thou art) the Spirit from Him; so intercede for us with thy Lord. Don’t you see (the trouble) in which we are? Don’t you see (the misfortune) that has overtaken us? Jesus (peace be upon him) would say: Verily, my Lord is angry today as He had never been angry before or would ever be angry afterwards. He mentioned no sin of his. (He simply said: ) I am concerned with myself, I am concerned with myself; you go to someone else: better go to Muhammad (ﷺ). They would come to me and say: O Mahammad, thou art the messenger of Allah and the last of the apostles. Allah has pardoned thee all thy previous and later sins. Intercede for us with thy Lord; don’t you see in which (trouble) we are? Don’t you see what (misfortune) has overtaken us? I shall then set off and come below the Throne and fall down prostrate before my Lord; then Allah would reveal to me and inspire me with some of His Praises and Glorifications which He had not revealed to anyone before me. He would then say: Muhammad, raise thy head; ask and it would be granted; intercede and intercession would be accepted I would then raise my head and say: O my Lord, my people, my people. It would be said: O Muhammad, bring in by the right gate of Paradise those of your people who would have no account to render. They would share with the people some other door besides this door. The Prophet then said: By Him in Whose Hand is the life of Muhammad, verify the distance between two door leaves of the Paradise is as great as between Mecca and Hajar, or as between Mecca and Busra. http://sunnah.com/riyadussaliheen/1…

    Linda Spencer I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God, that he came to this earth to die a horrible death to pay the penalty for man’s sin, that each of us must accept him as,Lord and Saviour and live a pleasing life for his glory and honor, and that he is coming back to receive his blood washed church that where he is there we may be also. There’s NOT alot of time to get ready for him, we must get ready and STAY ready for his coming is very SOON. God bless each of you>he loves you!!

    Jerry Sexton Vicarious redemption is an immoral teaching. It is a death cult that enables it’s followers to commit wrongdoing without responsibility for actions. Jeffery Dahmer, the serial killer, will be in heaven while I, a law abiding atheist who tries to treat others as I would like to be treated, will be tortured for eternity?

    Angelica Elsayeeda Linda Spencer we believe Jesus was a Prophet of God with a message. We believe God is not human or anything even that our small minds can imagine. We also don’t believe in any one person having to pay for the sins if another. In Islam we are solely accountable for ourselves, before God. We believe God himself is the only savior and our way to Him is through Him and only Him. We are waiting for Jesus to return and rule in peace while giving humanity the chance to come to God. I was raised Catholic. There is no way to explain or make any sense of the trinity (doesn’t exist in the Bible) or the torture and killing of Jesus (a man) as punishment for humans just BEING BORN. God is God. There are no others, no partners, no anything like Her. While you want us to turn to a man, worship him and ask for his acceptance so we can get to God, we have a personal line directly to Him and if you so choose, you can too. There is and should not be ANYONE or anything between you and God.

    Kirby Hopper Linda Spencer I’m a Christian, and there are a lot of us Christians who question everything we are taught by our churches. I suggest the same for everyone. Are you aware that the doctrine of Penal Substitutionary Atonement that you are espousing was a post-apostolic invention? No Christian theologian taught this in the early Christian church until someone in the western Roman empire came up with the idea. Those in the eastern church never did adopt it and the Eastern Orthodox church to this day still teaches salvation as it was taught by Jesus and his apostles, as do a number of Protestant churches that have taken a close look at what the bible teaches. Yes, Jesus died for our sins, but not in the way you think. Muslims are correct in rejecting this doctrine, however, unfortunately they do not understand why he did die for their sins and what that can mean for them. It’s not about a ticket to heaven, it’s about restoration to wholeness. That’s what “salvation” means in the original language. And relax, there’s plenty of time. Jesus already returned just as he said he would.

    Kirby Hopper Angelica Elsayeeda I agree all men can go directly to God without a mediator, however I do believe a mediator can be beneficial for anyone. I think the orthodox understanding that “Jesus died for our sins” was meant to be a blessing for those who were alienated from God and had a hard time believing God would forgive is a great way to view Christ’s crucifixion. The man, who represented God, forgave his executioners – how much more will the All Merciful Allah do the same for those who turn from their wicked ways?

    Ishmael Abraham
    Ishmael Abraham Quran categorically denies death at cross and Jesus peace be upon him will break cross upon second advent. 4:157 Dr. Ghali
    And for their saying, “Surely we killed the Masih, Isa son of Maryam, (The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary) the Messenger of Allah.” And in no way did they kill him, and in no way did they crucify him, but a resemblance of him was presented to them (i.e. the matter was made obscure for them through mutual resemblance). And surely the ones who differed about him are indeed in doubt about him. (Or: it, “that”) In no way do they have any knowledge about him except the close following of surmise, and in no way did they kill him of a certainty.

    Kirby Hopper Dr. Ghali is engaging in eisogesis. Read the text yourself. The issue is who killed him, not whether he was killed or not.

    Ishmael Abraham
    Ishmael Abraham Quran 9:65 forbids engaging in idle talk and jokes about religion. Yet, indeed, if thou wert to question them. they would surely answer, “We were only indulging in idle talk, and were playing [with words]. Say: “Were you, then. mocking at God and His messages and His Apostle?

    Ishmael Abraham All translations of Quran 4:157 say they did not kill him for sure and they are confused.

    Ishmael Abraham
    Ishmael Abraham Jerry Sexton { Ishmael, Jesus told his disciples to leave their families to follow him also. I am not limited to Buddha.} Leaving the love of apostate, faithless and pagan families is not the same thing as stopping to care about them. There is no evidence that wife of Buddha was an enemy of truth. Buddha simply believed female seduction to be demonic unlike Islam.

    Ishmael Abraham
    Ishmael Abraham { I think the orthodox understanding that “Jesus died for our sins” was meant to be a blessing for those who were alienated from God and had a hard time believing God would forgive is a great way to view Christ’s crucifixion.} If God was so forgiving why did He torture a sinless Prophet for sins of others. That is against Ezekiel 18:20. Kirby Hopper

    Kirby Hopper The issue addressed in all translations of 4:157 is who gets the “credit” for killing him. Show me one that says, “Jesus was not crucified.”

    Kirby Hopper You aren’t answering my question. I didn’t ask whether the Jews killed him or someone else killed him. Where does it say Jesus was not crucified?

    Ishmael Abraham
    Ishmael Abraham It also says ما صلبوه Ma salaboohu Ma(Not) Salab(crucify) Boo(They) Hu(him). Cross is called saleeb in Arabic. Dr. Shabir Ally says it means that he did not die on cross so he is willing to accept crucifixion without death unlike mainstream Muslims.

    Greg Logan Ishmael Abraham Ish, dude, I would never play with you!! Who are you to decide who is and is not a prophet from God??? Those of us in Christ are to ALL seek the gift of prophecy – which we use to edify the body of Christ (ICor14:1ff).

    Kirby Hopper Again, Ishmael, where does it say in the Quran that Jesus was not crucified? It only says “THEY” did not crucify him. If I say my wife did not paint my house am I saying my house did not get painted?

    Angelica Elsayeeda Kirby Hopper a man was crucified, but we do not believe that man was Jesus. He ascended and will return. Though the people believed it was Jesus on the cross, Muslims are taught it was not and Jesus was saved

    1. Why does the Quran use a masculine pronoun?
    2. Just because a Muslim is taught something – does that make it true??

    Angelica Elsayeeda The translation of Quran says He in line with Abraham tradition. The word Allah is not masculine or feminine and cannot be made plural. That’s why we prefer the word Allah to God. God can become God’s and Goddess. Allah is all.

    Greg Logan Angelica Elsayeeda With respect, these are just words – and as such, meaningless. What is meaningful is the concept – the model.

    Angelica Elsayeeda As for 2, same with Christianity. Is it true just because we were taught it? The bible does not mention a trinity but we were taught that God is 3. But just 1. But 3 separate. But only 1.

  • A Rhode Island trinitarian invites me to lunch :)

    westportexperiment
    Ishmael,Thank you for your kind response. Well, many things could be said. But let me confine myself to just one point. Indeed, God in the book of Numbers says, “He is not a man, that He should lie, nor the son of man that He should repent [change His mind].” The essential nature of God, the Godhead, is wholly uncreated, divine, and has never become corrupted with what He has created. Not even the incarnation of the Word in Jesus Christ made the nature of God any less divine. But when the holy apostles declare that “God was manifest in the flesh,” what they meant was that God clothed Himself, as it were, with the humble garments of flesh. “In him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” Putting on clothes brings the man into intimate contact with his clothing; it does not in any way make him his clothing. Classic orthodox Christianity since the Council of Constantinople has declared that the God-man, Jesus, is one person with two distinct natures, without any mixing or blending of the two. So in Christ, God has not converted into human nature in any way. Rather, He has come into such intimate contact with human nature for our redemption. How close He has come to us for our salvation! He is “Immanuel, God with us.”I would love to carry on more discussion in person. If you are ever in Rhode Island or near it, drop me an e-mail – mjives dot refparish at gmail dot com. I would be happy to treat you to lunch – that is, if you can dine with a kafir like me!I’m not on Facebook myself, but I notice you’re an electrical engineer. My son wants to go into that line of work.Warm regards,Michael
    Codex Sinaiticus which contains the oldest complete copy of NT does not have the word ‘God’ in 1 Timothy 3:16, so unholy trinitarians used the ‘lying pen of scribes’ as bible puts it. Please read:16 And confessedly great is the mystery of godliness: He who was manifested in flesh, was justified in spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

  • Teaching minister Curt Landry about Samuel and David peace be upon them

    Samuel peace be upon him appeared in a dream to a Jewish scientist Samawal Al-Maghribi and he converted to Islam, and then he wrote a book refuting bible and Jews called The Confutation of Jews.
    As Muslim keepers of first and greatest commandment we find the fabricated(Quran 2:79) story of David peace be upon him committing zina(adultery). We believe all Prophets are sinless role-models for humanity.
  • Tears of Umar may God be pleased with him about a trinitarian and iman-less Christian monk

    It refutes the unbiblical Christian idea about salvation that Muslims and atheists will burn in Hellfire. Jesus peace be upon him said: I am sent ONLY to the lost sheep of house of Israel, while Islam consistently claims universal mission in Quran 48:13 3:85 7:158 25:1

    Sayyidunaa ‘Umar Weeps Over the Exertion of a Christian Monk
    Aboo `Imraan Jowni narrates that ‘Umar , radiAllaahu ‘anhu (may Allaah be pleased with him), once passed by a monk and remained standing there. Someone called the monk and told him that the Ameeru`l-Mu`mineen (Leader of the Faithful) was there. When the monk peeped out, the effects of difficulty, exertion and forsaking the world were clearly apparent on his face . Looking at him, ‘Umar, radiAllaahu ‘anhu, began to weep. “But he is a Christian”, someone commented. ‘Umar, radiAllaahu ‘anhu, replied “I know, but I feel sorry for him becasue I thought of the Verse in which Allaah mentions… :
    عَامِلَةٌۭ نَّاصِبَةٌۭ
    تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةًۭ
    “‘Aamilatu`n-naasibah. Taslaa naaran haamiyah.”
    “He who suffered affliction and who endured many difficulties (thinking that he was pleasing Allaah whereas his beliefs and actions did not conform with the injunctions of Allaah); he shall enter the blazing fire.” [Soorat al-Ghaashiyah (088:003-004)]
    “… I feel sorry for him because despite his exertion and efforts in this world, he shall still end up in Jahannam (Hell).”
    This is related by Bayhaqee, ibn Mundhir, and Haakim as quoted in Kanzu`l-‘Ummaal (1/175).
