A message from the acting Chair

    December 1, 2017

To the current and future electrical engineering community at Princeton:

As we respond to the recently revealed case of sexual harassment within our department, I want to reiterate the importance of treating each other with the greatest humanity and respect.
Any behavior or attitudes that lessen the dignity of another human being have no place in our department.
As acting chair, I commend all who speak up publically or privately and work to prevent abuse in all forms, and I pledge to work with you to foster a safe, inclusive, healthy, productive work environment for all.

  • Who are Salihi Zaydis?

Ryan Morgan Christison Too my knowledge these are the sub sects of the zaidiyya:

    – Jaruidi (active and majority of houthis)
    – Hadawy (active)
    – Qasimi (active)
    – Baqri (active)
    – Sulaymani (inactive)
    – Bathri (inactive)

Which one do you believe is more on the haq Ishmael Abraham?

Ishmael Abraham I love Salihi school founded by Hasan bin Salih bin Hayy who is said to never talk about dunya and wept a lot. His enemies said, we love the smile of Sunni Thawri than tears of Zaydi Salihi.

Ryan Morgan Christison Is this school not extinct tho?
Ishmael Abraham Ideas never become extinct 🙂 Truth seekers become extinct but heresiologists still mention them so their dhikr is not extinct. He represents the interface of the continuum.
  • The true story behind Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine

    https://www.dawn.com/news/1145799

Some secular writers have insinuated that later saints were superior to him do not know that those later saints took their inspiration from his martyrdom. He is the son of Muhammad the pure soul who revolted against Abassids.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alid_revolt_of_762%E2%80%93763

The forefather of present king Qaboos of Oman loved him and secretly supported him so he was fired from his post due to his love for Prophetic descendants.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umar_ibn_Hafs_Hazarmard

Even one polytheistic Sindhi king is said to respect the Prophetic descendants. May God bless our politicians with the same love for intellectual and biological descendants of the Prophet(s). In the last century, Nadwi is a Hasani descendant and Mawdudi is a Husayni descendant and both are neglected by masses like their forefathers.

Even Jewish professors have written the biography of the pure soul who revolted. But ignorant secularized Muslims have forgotten their own history. It should be noted that even the Prophetic family had reservations about foreign forms of mysticism.

It is said that 400 Zaydi disciples accompanied Abdullah Al-Ashtar to Sindh.

  • If you knew someone who masturbated

The Ishmaelite Prophetic descendant Jafar the truthful said: لو علمت بمن یفعله ما اكلت معه

If I knew someone who masturbated, I would not have eaten food with him.

I am not sure if the word is ‘You’ or ‘I’.

  • Existentialism, sexuality and facing the anxiety of abstinence

Being an orthodox Muslim, I was curious about the relationship between existentialism and sexuality. Kierkegaard was a monk. I read that although abstinence does not have any physiological adverse effects but it produces anxiety, which a failed sexual relationship also causes. But I found a clue in this article that one must face anxiety rather than trying to escape it. Thank you very much.

  • Duldul: Zoosophy and the Prophetic animals

Divine peace on truth seekers. I am an orthodox Muslim electrical engineer from Pakistan. You made my day :). Someone told me about the special mule in our tradition today and I am happy to find that someone in the modern world has related to it and wrote about it on internet. May God bless us with a life of compliance with commandments and a faithful death.

  • On highly educated actors

Assalamu alaykum, A foreign PhD researcher in semiconductor physics talked about why overcoming tunnel vision is important for specialists. So, it is good to see interdisciplinary figures. Bridging rationalism and spirituality is the most challenging but fortunately Pakistan has such examples too as well.

  • Sacred ink of the Recited Logos and the sacred tears of five prayers

To an American sister marrying a Pakistani guy: I met the American converts in interfaith fb discussion groups. I think Pakistani men never cheat unless they are too secular. So, it is a good choice for a life partner. I have also offered Sufi counseling to couples in past so if you feel the need to understand traditional psychology, I will help. Islam is a life long journey in the ocean of sacred ink and sacred tears. Quran the Ishmaelite Logos is sacred ink and five daily prayers are the sacred tears. You can start from weekly Friday prayers or bi annual Eid prayers. In America, they have Sunday although Jesus prayed on Saturday. Then God changed it to Friday with easier rules. We take a bath before Friday prayers because the feeling of purity makes us feel holy.

Great I like small steps. Cheating is a problem but my approach has been to address it with the individual rather than addressing the issue in general.
    What is Sufi counseling?

Psychology is a modern invention by a secular but Abrahamic scholar Freud, but before psychology, Sufi saints used to give advice to couples in our cultures.

  • A Sufi saint from Prophetic family weeps on listening to poetry about divine love

A Sufi Yemeni scholar from Prophetic descendants ( from children of Ali bin Jafar As-Sadiq, peace be upon them, ) weeps while listening to poetry about divine love. I think the tears threshold was the word ‘sirr’ or secret and private relationship between man and God.

  • Poetic rhetoric and Scriptural accuracy: The case on an Iqbal verse about resurrection

The angel of resurrection complained to God: O God I fear if this man raises the dead before you. Iqbal

Cátia Lins No one would have such power. How can an angel who knows his Creator so well, ask him such a question? Because doubt precedes the question and angels do not doubt God.

Ishmael Abraham You are right. This is only poetic rhetoric telling God about the wish to raise people from spiritual slumber 🙂
