  • Dr. Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, faithful Queen of Sheba in Quran and female defenders of truth

“Although over sixty years have passed since the Movement emerged into existence, no women leaders have appeared that can confront secular and Marxist trends single-handedly and efficiently. This has come about as a result of men’s unrelenting attempts to control women’s movement, as men have never allowed women a real chance to express themselves and show special leadership talents and abilities that demonstrate their capability of taking command of their work without men’s dominance. I believe that women’s Islamic work will succeed and prove itself in the arena of the Islamic Movement only when it gives birth to female Islamic leaders in the fields of Call, thought, science, literature and education. Accordingly, women as well as men can dedicate themselves to Allah, and play a role in jihad. I do not think that this is impossible or even difficult. There are genius women just as there are genius men. Ingenuity is not a monopoly for men. It is not in vain that the Holy Quran tells us the story of a woman who led men wisely and bravely and made her people fare the best end: it is the Queen of Sheba, whose story with Solomon is told in Surat Al Naml. I have observed in the University of Qatar that girls make better students than boys.

May Allah bless our educated sisters with humility of the Queen of Sheba to embrace truth when it is presented to them.
  • Conversation with Seandor Szeles about free will

The approach of Islam about free will is intermediate between absolute fatalism called jabariya in Arabic (having same etymology as determinism of Algebra) as of some Christian sects and absolute self-deifying affirmation of free will in Zoroastrianism called qadariya in Arabic. The latter was adopted by heterodox Mutazila sects in Islam, and it was prophesied in Hadith sacred texts that unipolar Antichrist world order and its supporters will embrace it. The orthodox approach in Islam is between two extremes. Western thought tends to think in a reductionist way in discrete binary terms while ignoring the continuum. For example, a Muslim saint said: We can lift one foot which is our free will, and we cannot lift both feet which is our determinism. We can jump, but even rockets cannot escape gravity as long as they have mass.
  • A food of thought to Times of Israel for progress in the mission of first Ishmaelite Nobel prize winner

He talked about rights of Palestinians while receiving Wolf prize. He also talked about how Islamic civilization brought humanity out of dark ages. Reformation preceded Enlightenment and since he was no atheist so a monotheistic reformation is required to produce his vision of monotheistic enlightenment. He also thought positively about Arab Spring which is a movement of freedom and freedom includes anticolonialism. Sola Scriptura orthodox Jews should become more vocal in terms of science and politics in order to make modern Zionism more receptive to sacred texts of Tafsir, Hadith and Ahlulbayt which we consider the universal Ark of Salvation in the global flood and firestorm of promiscuity, materialism and bloodshed.
  • Islamic epistemology, Hindu pro-traditionalism/pantheism and western philosophy

    Ron William

    · “WHAT IS TRUTH?” Truth, like knowledge, is surprisingly difficult to define. We seem to rely on it almost every moment of every day and it’s very “close” to us. Yet it’s difficult to define because as soon as you think you have it pinned down, some case or counterexample immediately shows deficiencies. Ironically, every definition of truth that philosophers have developed falls prey to the question, “Is it true?”Simply, we can define truth as: a statement about the way the world actually is. We’ll look at various theories below that philosophers have considered but that’s an adequate rough-and-ready definition to get us started. Coming up with a definition of truth falls under the discipline of epistemology or the study of knowledge though some philosophers categorize it as a study in metaphysics–the study of what is real.
Ron,,you are digging deep into Hinduism…..The truth is Maya…..
maya is the “ever changing nature of universe and the physical world and its sutiations”..thus,”illusion”…he fact that physical/materialistic world is maya is a truth.
The word used in Holy Hadith for maya is batil(falsehood). The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The truest poetic verse ever said by a poet, is: Indeed! Everything except Allah, is batil (perishable) “
So whatever is not both pre-eternal and does not have eternal future without death and annihilation is the real Truth or Al-Haqq. Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: The truest word uttered by a poet is this verse of Labid: “Behold! apart from Allah everything is vain,” and Umayya b. Abu Salt was almost a Muslim.
Rene Guenon a Sufi convert to Islam has shown how pro-traditionalism of Islam and Hinduism can work together against Godless modernity.
Ibn Arabi has explored this in such depth that orthodox scholars accuse him of degenerating into idolatrous hindu pantheism which leads to Hell fire according to 4:116 48:13 3:85 25:1. This shows that every human being has a moral/spiritual obligation to seek and acknowledge truths and the Truth.
The Sankhya Philosophy system is designed to afford understanding of the real Truth. What is that real truth? The real truth is knowledge of how to get out of the material body, which is the source of all trouble. Lord Kapila’s incarnation, or descent, is especially meant for this purpose. HARE KRSNA, HARE KRSNA, KRSNA KRSNA, HARE HARE, HARE RAMA, HARE RAMA, RAMA RAMA, HARE HARE,
Material body can become trouble free if its rights are fulfilled in halal ways. And, halal and haram is determined by revelation. Buddhist and Hindu negation of material body leads to practical hypocrisy because being an absolute monk is called schizophrenia according to modern standards. So, Islamic paradigm is the ideal balance between body and spirit.
  • Technology dependence, intense loneliness and the need of disconnecting

May Divine peace or shalom in hebrew be upon truth seekers 🙂 I am an orthodox and orthoprax Muslim electrical engineer and technology educator. Being an introvert, I feel more comfortable in written communication than verbal. I spend most of my time in listening and responding to those who are curious and/or critical of faith in general and my faith in particular. But receiving 30-100 notifications daily burnt me out. So, I went way for Itikaf retreat of meditative worship in the last ten days of Ramadan fasting and I felt rejuvenated after returning. I feel intense loneliness when I am not with a sacred scholar or I am not engaged in an inter-civilizational dialogue. So, I wanted to verbalize my intense loneliness. Thanks for helping me in that.
  • Corvid funerals: How Quran ascribes intelligence and sentience to animals

May Divine peace be upon the truth seekers 🙂 I am an orthodox and orthoprax Muslim, an electrical engineer and a technology educator who interacts with those curious and/or antagonistic about Islam on daily basis. I encounter numerous pseudo-psychiatric judgements about my religion so I am seeking to develop a reverse discourse to answer their allegations. Quran talks about corvid funerals so I was curious about secular perspectives on this. Quran also refers to communication of ants and how they detect threats which is the same behaviour I find in scientific explanations of corvid funerals. So, Quranic theosophical worldview ascribes both intelligence and sentience to animals.
  • Do I desperately seek attention and approval of colonizing whites due to a colonized mind?

Do I desperately seek attention and approval of whites?
Hussain Murtaza He comes from Pakistan, my home country. So I can very well relate to this psychology of craving for the white man’s attention. The white men colonized us for a hundred years and we still haven’t been to move past that psychology. You can’t even imagine how the white man is considered to be the benchmark of all excellence, in our part of the world. This has nothing to do with racism, you would have understood this if you had this context in mind
Jerry Sexton Well I will say this about him. I respect him even if I don’t believe in a deity. His command of the English language is most impressive. He loves debate, as do I. He tolerates insults very well, stays friends with Christians and atheists even when they tell him in not so friendly ways that his views are wrong. If there were anything that I would change about him, it would be his view about secular government. 🙂
Ishmael Abraham Islam offered humanity what Antichrist secularism offers today without its seductively destructive potential for mass apostasy.
Ishmael Abraham The word for evangelism in Islam is dawah or calling humanity towards Allah their Creator. So, it is about making humanity attentive to their Origin. I seek attention of everyone who disagrees with Quran and Sunnah. So, I befriend even takfiri, cursing and abusive Shia extremists who can be Arabs, Persians or Indians so that does not depend upon race.
Jerry, your evangelism was not Scripturally intelligent because Jesus peace be upon him clearly said: I am sent ONLY to the lost sheep of house of Israel, while Ishmaelite Prophet Muhammad blessings and peace be upon him was sent for all mankind (Quran 7:158 48:13 3:85 25:1)
  • Thanking Allah for a milestone in being an orthodox intellectual progressive & inspiring disenchantment in the traditional world

Today is a blessed and happy day. I have scored Top 3 position in Pakistani MSEE admissions and I have scored 76% marks as expected in foreign scholarship test. Pakistani MS will allow me to continue my mission in a relaxed way while foreign MS will require a lot of hard work which will decrease my online interactions with foreigners. My electrical engineering studies will enable me to delve into the ultimate questions of existence like quantum cosmo-genesis from a theosophical perspective. I may study subjects like quantum cryptography, quantum computing and nano electronics which define the modern technologies of future. But, my aim is to consciously disenchant myself from the spell of modernity through insightful and skeptical familiarization and to inspire a movement of conscious disenchantment (taharrur min al sihr or liberation from spell) in the traditional world.
  • Faiq Hassan and Henri Matisse are two modern artists which pro-traditional spiritual identities

In the name of One God the Creator. May Divine peace or shalom in hebrew be upon those who seek and acknowledge truth. Iraq is one of spiritual heartlands of Muslims because two important members of Prophetic Family or Ahlulbayt are buried here.Imam Ali(r) in Najaf, Iraq who is the son in law of Ishmaelite Prophet Muhammad(s) and Imam Husain(r) in Karbala Iraq who is grandson of Ishmaelite Prophet Muhammad(s). Iraqi artist Faiq Hassan admired Matisse and I am happy to learn that both of them shared sacred pro-traditionalism which would have been ideal in case Matisse had been an Arian Catholic making his pro-traditionalism more Scriptural by fulfilling first and greatest commandment.
  • Is there atheistic basis of altruism? How Augustine taught a false dichotomy?

    dfpolis

Problems of Belief Systems – What is the theoretical basis of democracy generally, and the idea of equality under the law specifically? For Christians, it is that we are all made in the image of God and so intrinsically valuable.
Another foundation is St. Augustine’s idea of the two cities: The City of God and the City of the World. In his Literal Commentary on Genesis, Augustine writes that what makes us citizens of the City of God is our commitment to the common good, while we are citizens of the City of the World in virtue of our selfishness. Clearly, much that is wrong in the U.S. at the moment is due to the fact that many politicians are more concerned about self interest than the common good. That is what allows lobbyists to have such power.
A point of concern here is that Henry Sidgwick, viewed by many to be the most rational of all the classic utilitarianisms, admitted, with some regret, that he could find no rational reason to recommend the common interest over self interest. So, how are atheists to promote the primacy of the common good, and with it, the foundations of a successful republic?
What brings this to mind is Eric Metaxas, If You Can Keep It: The Forgotten Promise of American Liberty. In it he discusses the golden triangle as a founding idea of the republic. It is this: 1. Freedom requires virtue. If most citizens are not adequately self governing, excessive policing is required and that is antithetical to freedom. 2. Virtue requires faith. (I have argued in other posts that faith is commitment, not to a set of dogmas, but to love.) As I just pointed out, utilitarian ethics seems incapable of providing a rational basis for choosing the common good over self interest, while the Abrahamic faiths, especially Christianity, do. Note that I am not saying atheists cannot be virtuous. They can be and many are, just as many Christians are riddled with vice. The question is not who is virtuous, but what belief systems provide a theoretic ground for promoting the common good. 3, Faith requires freedom. A lack of freedom makes it difficult to follow one’s conscience. The use of “requires” here is not logical, but political. It is a statement of sound policy, not necessary conditions.
So, again, the question is, how does atheism justify moral equality and choosing the common good over self-interest?
    Peace, Dennis
1Edit I am a neo-orthodox Muslim and the idea of City of God and City of the World resonates with me because we have a concept of Abode of Surrender to God (dar al islam) and Abode of Faithlessness and Apostasy (dar al kufr) based on whether God de facto rules a political entity or Satan. In the Abode of Surrender, God’s rights and human rights are concomitant, based on last words of Ishmaelite Prophet Muhammad(s) on his deathbed to take special care of obligatory prayers or duties towards God, and of subordinates or duties towards creation. But that does not mean God expects us to become robotically altruistic monks, as Quran discourages monasticism(rahbaniya), rather He also teaches us not to neglect our selves. The context of rights of self was that a holy companion decided to pray all night thus he ignored the right of body to sleep, he decided to ignore his wife thus he ignored the right of body to have intimacy and permissible gratification, and he decided to fast all year thus he ignored the right of body to food. So, Augustine’s false dichotomy is simplistic which leads to heresy of secularism the pinnacle of which is atheism. So, Christendom has committed a spiritual suicide into the supposed death of God, through some serious errors like anti-unitarianism, antinomianism and monasticism.
