Some ignorant Shia believers criticize Sunni believers for praying six hundred rak’at of tarawih in Ramadan. They do not know that Prophetic descendants taught praying two third times more units of prayer in Ramadan.
عن أبي عبدالله ( عليه السلام ) قال: إن استطعت أن تصلّي في شهر رمضان وغيره في اليوم والليلة ألف ركعة فافعل، فإن علياً ( عليه السلام ) كان يصلّي في اليوم والليلة ألف ركعة
Imam Jafar As-Sadiq(as) said: If you can pray one thousand rak’at in days and nights of Ramadan, you should do that because Ali, may Allah be pleased with him used to do that.
